Assistive Technology Prescription Process

  • 1: Comprehensive Assessment:

    Our Occupational Therapist will conduct thorough assessments, considering a participants physical, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects, to gain a comprehensive understanding of their unique needs and challenges.

  • 2: Identifying and Trialing Appropriate Assistive Technologies:

    This phase includes evaluating and recommending suitable assistive technologies that enhance independence and address barriers to participation in daily life. In many cases, it's essential for the participant to trial the selected AT devices or solutions to assess their suitability and effectiveness in real-world scenarios. Our Occupational therapist will facilitate these trials, provide training on using the technology, and gather feedback from the participant and their support network.

  • 3: NDIS Reporting

    Our Occupational therapists will document their assessments, recommendations, and interventions related to assistive technology in detailed reports. Assisting participants and their families in navigating the NDIS system, providing support in the application process, and advocating for the approval and funding of assistive technology.

  • 4: Customisation and Education

    Our Occupational Therapist will then customise assistive technologies to ensure proper fit and functionality along side the equipment specialists.. Providing comprehensive education and training to participants and their support networks on the correct use, maintenance, and integration of the prescribed technologies.
